QReserve provides a tremendous amount of options and features around how your resource calendars are handled. As a result, many unique and complicated operational requirements can be automated and configured to make managing your facility easier and reliable. This page provides a complete overview of QReserve's reservation options.
Accessing Reservation Options
All of the settings in this section are typically accessed through the Reservations tab when editing a resource.
- On your Resources page in Administration, click on the pencil icon next to the resource you want to edit.
- Go to the Reservations tab and then select the desired section from the side menu.
Alternatively, most options are also accessible through the reservations table by changing the attribute displayed in one of the editable columns.
GeneralReservations Enabled
If your resource is not available for reservations, or you just need to temporarily remove all reservation abilities for all users, then set Reservations Enabled to No.
Loanable
Turn your resource library into a loanable library. See the Loan Library Mode for more information.
Recurring Reservations
By default, recurring reservations are disabled for all users but can be enabled for all users or for only moderators or administrators.
Add-on Resource
When enabled, this resource can only be reserved when reserved in conjunction with another non-add on resource.
Color on Calendar
Set the color of the resource's reservations when viewed on calendars in the site to quickly pick them out.
Units
Available Units
The number of units available in total. For example, a fridge may have 5 shelves that can be reserved or you may have 10 copies of a book that can be loaned out. Use multiple units when you wish to track the quantity of multiple units of a resource without requiring the granularity to individually track each unit separately. If a resource's units deplete over time then you can setup your resource as a Consumable.
Unit Name
The name of the unit to use in the user interface. This could be simply "unit" or "shelf" or "copy" or "samples" any other description you require.
Reservation Unit Limit
Limit the maximum number of units a user may request within any single reservation, regardless of the total number of available units.

See the Rates and Fees section for more information.

See the Time Restrictions section for more information.

Enable Any Logged-in Users to View Resource Calendar
When set to Yes, any logged-in user can view the resource calendar, even if they are not permitted to mak reservations on that calendar. Otherwise, the user must have permission to make reservations prior to viewing the calendar.
Enable Anonymized Calendar for External Websites
When enabled, a URL is provided to link to a public version of this resource calendar that shows only the basic availability but does not require viewers to be logged into QReserve.
Modify custom text that is inserted into reservation confirmation emails at each stage of the reservation process. You can also specify an email address to receive invitations automatically whenever a resource is scheduled. This is typically used for automated invitation processing and is not meant for an individual to receive emails. For help setting this up with Outlook resources, see Inviting Outlook Resources.
External
Enter an external iCalendar Feed URL to import reservations from existing calendars such as Google Calendar.
