Welcome to “The Lab” – Your Sandbox Environment
“The Lab” is a specialized environment designed for enterprise customers to safely experiment with features and train users. This environment provides a copy of production data that is reset at least once per week, ensuring that you can explore and learn without any impact on your real production data. Below are the key features and limitations of “The Lab”:
Key Features
- Safe Environment: Use real data from your production environment to simulate scenarios without affecting actual production operations.
- Weekly Resets: The Lab’s data is refreshed weekly to ensure consistency and minimize long-term impacts of testing.
Accessing The Lab
- Login Requirements: You must log in with a username and password. If you normally use SSO for access, you can use the password reset tool in The Lab to set a password for this environment.
- Access Control: Your account must be pre-approved by QReserve staff to access The Lab and this functionality is only available to Premium clients.
Important Limitations
- Email Functionality: All outgoing emails, including bulk messages, are restricted. Any email sent from The Lab will have a prominent warning banner to indicate its origin.
- Integration Restrictions: Payment processors and other third-party integrations will not function within The Lab.
- Kiosks Support: Kiosks are not supported at this time.
- Web Integration: Web integrations are not supported at this time.
- Disabled Automation: Timed or recurring functionality is disabled. This includes auto-cancelling reservations, invoice expiration, triggers, and workflows. These measures prevent any unintentional interaction with third-party systems or individuals outside of The Lab.
Best Practices
- Use The Lab for training new users on workflows and features.
- Safely experiment with new processes without fear of affecting real data.
- Familiarize your team with the warning banners on emails to ensure no confusion between The Lab and your production environment.
With The Lab, you can ensure your team is well-trained and prepared, all while keeping your real production data secure.
